Founder and Principal

For more than 20 years, Marty McGann has been at the center of major policy decisions and public investments that have shaped Greater Cleveland and the state of Ohio. As the founder of McGann Partners, he brings his deep experience in government relations, strategic planning, and legal counsel to help clients advance priorities at the local, state, and federal levels.

Marty has led advocacy efforts for some of the region’s most prominent organizations — assisting Fortune 1000 companies to civic institutions — and was instrumental in securing hundreds of millions in public resources through federal appropriations, state capital budgets, competitive grants, and economic development tools. His work spans agencies and offices from the White House and U.S. Department of Transportation to the Ohio Statehouse and city and county governments.

Prior to launching McGann Partners, Marty served as Executive Vice President of Advocacy and Strategy and General Counsel at the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the nation’s largest regional chamber of commerce. There, he built and led high-performing teams in public affairs, project development, and funding strategy. He helped convene complex multi-state coalitions, supported business-led civic initiatives, and advised business CEOs, elected officials, and community leaders on the region’s most pressing government issues.

Beyond his role as a lobbyist and strategist, Marty is also a licensed attorney and trusted advisor. He understands the legal, political, and reputational dimensions of public-facing work and helps clients manage complexity with confidence.

Marty is a proud Cleveland native and a graduate of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and Ohio Wesleyan University. His professional approach is grounded in trust, discretion, and results — and his belief that progress happens when people come together across sectors to get things done.
